Recently, the debate between U.S. President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky has been making headlines in global media. This 10-minute heated exchange has raised questions from all sides.
Such debates are not common in press conferences, where President Trump said and conveyed a lot to President Zelensky. So, let’s find out how this all started.
Washington, White House
President Zelensky had come to meet President Trump, where an agreement was about to take place regarding U.S. medical aid and proposed minerals.
In the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Ukraine has received substantial aid from the U.S., whether in terms of money or military support. However, the exact amount of money sent has not been accounted for yet, and there is talk of around 160 billion to 300 billion dollars, which is still unclear.
However, if anyone has helped Ukraine the most in this war, it is the U.S., which has delivered every possible help to Ukraine on time.
So how did the debate begin: It all started when U.S. Vice President JD Vance told President Zelensky that he was not grateful for the help America had provided, and from that point, the normal conversation turned into a heated argument. After this argument, President Zelensky left the White House.
As soon as JD Vance questioned President Zelensky about the issues related to the war, Zelensky also responded sharply. He said, “During the war, everybody has problems, even you (America). But you have a nice ocean and don’t feel it now, but you will feel it in the future.” and president trump didn’t like this statement
Along with this, President Trump also stated, “You are gambling with World War 3… and whatever you are doing is very disrespectful to this country. You are currently not in a good position… you have a damn good chance of coming out.”
This is how some of the arguments went… and the very next day, the Ukrainian president left for the UK.
